Sharon Prince is the CEO and Founder of the Grace Farms Foundation. It was created in 2009 in hopes of giving individuals the chance to get in touch with nature, arts, justice, community, and faith. Sharon had a vision for Grace Farms. She wanted a non-profit organization that the public could come to and enjoy the peaceful setting.
At Grace farms there are 80 acres of land along with 80 different bird species that have been spotted there. There are walking trails, fishing ponds, games and activities throughout the year. The farm is open to the public and offers several games and activities to teach individuals about nature and wildlife.
Grace farm grows fresh produce, and 500 pounds of fresh produce is donated yearly from the Grace Farms Foundation. They hold community events to learn and discuss animals, ecosystems, produce, nature, and so much more. There are several activities, festivities, and games to attend to all year long. It is a free place to learn, enjoy the view, and find peace. And with the dozens of bird species it’s the perfect place for bird lovers to go bird watching.
Each year they hold a special event on Earth Day. The event is entirely free to the public so that anyone can join in on the fun. On Earth Day, there are several different games and activities to learn more about preserving wildlife and experiencing the beauty nature has to offer. Nature is alive at Grace Farms. Sharon found the perfect way to teach others about nature while having fun and enjoying the view. In Sharon’s own words, “the Foundation aspired to preserve this site as a gift of open space, a peaceful respite for the community to enjoy and to encourage people to draw inspiration from nature, pursue justice, encounter the arts, explore faith, and above all, collaborate for the common good.”
